Intro to Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is the opposite of Yang (or active) yoga that you might be used to.  It involves applying gentle stress to the muscles and connective tissue that cause us pain as we age.  Floor poses are held for an extended period of time to help promote flexibility and healthier joints.


Yin Yoga offers greater range of motion, younger looking skin, a new way to release toxins, renewed feelings of non-attachmentand contentment, and greater respect for your body! In this workshop, we will hold floor poses for 3-5 minutes as a way to gently stretch the tight tissues in our bodies and help release aches and pains in our spine, hips, knees, ankles and shoulders.

Within the silence and stillness of a passive Yin practice, we work through the distractions and discomfort of our minds and bodies, making it a challenging, but rewarding practice.  Yin is also the perfect way to help slow us down after the super-charged holiday time!

Holiday time is exciting, but it also knocks us out of balance...
